⚠️ Important: Only users with Administrator access can manage user accounts and system configuration.
Donorfy uses role-based permissions to restrict access to areas and features. The available options depend on your plan.
Donorfy Professional Plan Permissions
The Professional Plan provides granular control over what users can see and do:
Viewer
Can view data but cannot add, change, or delete records.
Can be granted access to selected features and data as needed.
Standard
Can add, change, and delete data they have access to, except Constituents.
Access to features and data is configurable on a per-user basis.
Administrator
Has access to all areas of Donorfy.
Can manage configuration, security, and users.
You can disable login access for inactive users to maintain security.
Configure Additional Access for Standard and Viewer Users
When you select a Standard or Viewer account type, additional options become available.
Dashboard Access
Choose which dashboard tiles the user can see.
Tailor dashboards to match each user’s role.
Constituent Tag Access
Control which constituent tags the user can view or work with.
Prevent access to sensitive segmentation where required.
Data Service
Enable or disable access to the Donorfy Data Service.
Restrict usage to approved users only.
Administrator vs Standard User Access
A Standard user with all options enabled is still different from an Administrator.
Administrators additionally have access to:
Configuration and Data Management
Settings, then Configuration access.
Delete functionality.
Triggers.
Duplicate management tools.
Security and User Management
Inviting new users.
Two-Factor Authentication controls.
Viewing the ChangeLog on constituent profiles.
Donorfy Essentials Plan Permissions
The Essentials Plan provides simpler permission controls.
Administrator
Full access to all Donorfy features.
Can configure settings and manage users.
Standard
Access to all features except configuration.
Cannot invite, edit, or delete users.
📌 Note: Viewer-level permissions are not available on the Essentials Plan.
Set or Update User Permissions
Follow these steps to manage permissions for an existing user.
Go to Settings, then click Users.
Select the user’s name to open their user profile.
Choose the appropriate account type and set access options to Yes or No as required.
Click Save to apply the changes.
Available options vary depending on the selected account type and plan.
Manage Administrator Dashboard Access
Administrators have full system access, but you can still customise what they see.
Open the Administrator’s user profile.
Adjust Dashboard Access settings to control visible tiles.
Administrators always retain full feature access regardless of dashboard visibility.
