Overview
When attendees are checked in through Eventbrite, Donorfy can update the corresponding Eventbrite Attendee Activity with a Yes/No value indicating check-in status.
📌Note: This feature is only available when:
The Eventbrite event is mapped to a Donorfy Campaign.
The event is active (not yet ended in Eventbrite).
Enable Attendee Check-in Recording
Step 1: Ensure Attendee Activities Are Enabled
Open the relevant Campaign in Donorfy.
Go to the Eventbrite tab.
Toggle Create an Activity for each attendee to Yes.
This reveals additional settings for mapping event check-ins.
Step 2: Map Check-in Status to an Activity Field
In the Activity field to record event check-in, choose your Yes/No field (e.g. Checked In).
Click Save Changes.
📌Note:
The Yes/No Activity field must already exist in Settings, click Configuration, then select Activity Types.
Step 3: Confirm Webhook Settings in Eventbrite
Your Eventbrite webhook must include:
attendee.checked_in.
If this action type was not selected when creating the webhook, check-ins will not be sent to Donorfy.
How Check-ins Are Recorded in Donorfy
When an attendee is checked in via Eventbrite, Donorfy automatically updates the corresponding Eventbrite Attendee Activity.
The selected Yes/No field (e.g. Checked In) is set to Yes.
This allows reporting on attendance directly within Donorfy.
After the Event Has Ended
When an event is marked Sales Ended in Eventbrite:
Eventbrite stops sending webhook updates.
Any check-ins recorded after the event ends will not update in Donorfy automatically.
How to update post-event check-ins
To reflect late check-ins in Donorfy:
Download the attendee list from Eventbrite.
Use Donorfy’s File Updater to update the relevant Activity records.
