If Donorfy cannot process your uploaded spreadsheet, it may show an error indicating that the file is damaged or unreadable.
This typically occurs when the Excel file contains hidden corruption, unused worksheets, or incompatible formatting. You can repair the file by saving it through a CSV conversion process.
Repair a Damaged File Before Uploading
Follow these steps to fix the workbook:
Navigate to Excel and open the original file you attempted to upload.
Delete all worksheets except the one containing the data you want to upload.
Save the workbook as a CSV file.
Excel may prompt you to confirm the file format, select Yes.
Close the workbook.
Reopen the CSV file you just saved.
Save it again, this time as a new Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
Close Excel.
Upload the newly saved file to Donorfy.
This process removes hidden formatting and corruption, allowing Donorfy to read the file successfully.
