Creating a new form is quick and easy, and can be completed within a few minutes!
Create a Form
Navigate to Forms, click Manage Forms.
Click Add Form.
A new Form screen will appear where some pre-requisites are entered:
Form Type - select from a number of ready-made form types: Donation, Membership, Contact Us, Volunteer Application, Gift Add Declaration,etc.
Form Description - the name or description of the form, for internal use only. (Limited to 100 characters).
Campaign - the Campaign associated with the form - e.g. you might be running a volunteer recruitment campaign - if the form is not linked to a specific campaign then choose the General Campaign.
Click Save Changes.
๐Note: The appropriate form elements will be automatically added to your form as a starting point.
The Form editor
After the initial creation, the Form editor will be displayed.This view contains five tabs and a Form preview button.
The tabs shown are :
Behaviour
Designer
Language
Tracking
Analytics
Form Behaviour tab
This tab allows you to set up or change the overall way your form works and the code to use for your website:
Form is active - when set to yes, the Form will be available for use by supporters.
Description - this is the name or description of the Form - internal use only
Campaign associated with the Form.
Form Title - when someone accesses your form - e.g. on your website - this will be displayed in the browser tab (Limited to 100 characters).
URL for this form:
The URL comprises two parts:
The base URL that cannot be changed.
URL suffix, appears on the end of the URL for the form.
Donorfy will generate a random code, however, you can change this to something more descriptive if you prefer.

A suffix must be unique and can only contain the letters A to Z and numbers 1 to 9.
Suffixes must not include spaces or special characters, i.e question marks and so on.
The Copy URL button copies the complete URL to the clipboard so that you can use the URL within communications.
After the form is submitted you can specify :

A message to display, is typically used when the form is not displayed as a standalone page.
A page to redirect to, is the link to the page on your website.

Display form as a Standalone Page
If Yes, when the Form is displayed it will view in a new window within the web browser.

If No, the Form's code snippet will alter an option to set the size of your Form's height and width. This is the sizing that will be displayed on your website within an iFrame.

Code Snippets
Is a line of HTML code that can be copied and pasted into your website. The snippet depends on whether the form is to be displayed as a standalone page, or not:
Standalone page - the snippet is for a button or a hyperlink from an image or words that can be added to your website that when pressed by the supporter will navigate to a page containing your form.
Not a standalone page - the snippet is for an iframe that can be embedded in a page in your website. The sizing of the Form can be edited directly within your iFrame.

Form Designer tab
This tab allows you to select, configure and sequence the elements to be used on your form.
The available elements are shown on the left, and the elements currently on your form are shown on the right under the Form Layout heading.

To add an element to your form: click the Add to form button.
To move an element about your form: click and hold the hamburger icon (the three lines) on the element's top left and move where needed in the Form.
To configure the element: click on the Show Details link to the right. Each element is detailed here: Available Form Elements.
To delete an element: click the Show Details link to the right. Once expanded click on the Remove from Form button.
Once your elements have been added or the layout changed, click Save Changes.
Language tab
This tab allows you to configure the terminology/form field descriptions that the Form's labels display.
To edit these fields:
Click into the relevant box.
Type your details
Once completed, click Save Changes.
Tracking tab
This tab allows you to create URLs that can be used in your communications to track how someone arrived at your form. It uses the widely used UTM parameter convention to construct a URL which arrives at your form.

Analytics tab
This tab provides information about how your form is performing - for example, if your form includes a donation element this tab will show a summary of the donations made via the form.
Editing Forms
To edit an existing form:
Navigate to Forms, click Manage Forms and a List of Forms will be displayed.
Find the Form you would like to edit it in the list of forms.
Click on the description of the Form, it will then open and display the Behaviour tab.

If you are working extensively with forms our request monitoring algorithms may flag your requests as suspicious and your request will be blocked.
