You can create automated message types, such as welcome messages, fundraising tips, or thank-you messages, and send them directly to Fundraisers via their Facebook page or Messenger.
These messages can include personalised form links, supporter details, and images.
Set Up Message Types
Go to Integrations, click Facebook Giving Tools.
Click the Messages tab.
Select the type of fundraiser (e.g., Birthday Fundraiser).
Select the form you want to use if your messages include personalised links requesting more information.
Click Add Message Type and configure:
Message Type
A descriptive name (e.g., Hints & Tips for Fundraising).
Message Tag
A short label displayed in the Fundraiser list when the message has been sent (e.g., Hints & Tips).
Message Tag Colour
Choose a colour to help visually identify the message in the list.
Message Text
Write the message that will be posted or sent.
You can use placeholders:
{FormLink} – Inserts a personalised form link.
{FirstName} – Inserts the fundraiser’s first name from their constituent profile.
⚠️Important:
Anyone with the Form link can view and edit the fundraiser’s personal data. Use private messaging such as Messenger when including form links. Links expire after 7 days.
You can also include an image link (URL) in the message.

Send a Message to a Fundraiser
Go to Integrations, click Facebook Giving Tools.
Click Fundraisers and Donate Buttons.
Find the Fundraiser you want to message.
Click Create Message.
Select the message type you want to send.
Donorfy copies the message text to your clipboard and opens the Fundraiser’s Facebook page.
Paste the message onto their page or send it privately via Messenger.
⚠️ Important:
If the message contains a personalised form link, send it using private messaging only to protect personal data.
After the message is sent, a tag appears in the Message History column.
Hover over the tag to see who sent the message and when.
Find Fundraisers Who Have Not Received a Message
To identify Fundraisers who still need a specific message type:
Navigate to Integrations, click Facebook Giving Tools.
Select Fundraisers and Donate Buttons.
In the Messages Not Sent section, tick the relevant message type (e.g., Hints & Tips).
The list filters automatically to show Fundraisers who:
Use a fundraiser type that has this message configured.
Have not yet been sent that message.
