To begin using the Facebook Giving Tools integration, open Integrations, click Facebook Giving Tools, then click the Settings tab.
This page allows you to define how donor data, transactions, and Gift Aid declarations should be handled when importing Facebook Giving Tools reports.

Configure Default Mappings

Purpose for Opt-ins

Use this option to specify the Purpose that should be applied when donors choose to share their email address for ongoing communications.

If the donor shares their email address during the donation process:

  • The Email channel is enabled.

  • The Purpose you selected here is applied (typically General).

  • The Preferred Channel is set to email.

Apply donations to named constituents even if donor marketing consent was not given?

This setting determines whether Donorfy should create or match a Constituent record even when a donor has not opted into marketing communications.

  • Yes โ€“ Donorfy attempts to find or create a Constituent using available donor details.

  • No โ€“ Donations are assigned to the Anonymous Donor Constituent.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note:
Donors who opt into Gift Aid must exist as named Constituents in Donorfy so that Gift Aid can be processed. Their communication preferences will still be respected.

Anonymous Donor Constituent

Select the Constituent record that should receive donations where no donor details are provided.

๐Ÿค“Tip:
Create a dedicated Anonymous โ€“ Facebook Constituent profile to keep these records clean and separate.

Configure Transaction Settings

Transactions Payments

These settings determine how imported Facebook donations are coded in Donorfy.

Choose default mappings for:

  • Campaign.

  • Bank Account.

  • Acknowledgment.

Allow import where Facebook payout currency differs from account default

Enable this setting if your Facebook payout currency (EUR, GBP, USD) is different from your Donorfy accountโ€™s default currency.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note:

  • To use this option, you must first add the Facebook payout currency under Settings, then Configuration, then Currencies, and set the exchange rate to be used during import.

  • Payment Method is assigned automatically based on the type of Fundraiser or Donate button.

Transactions โ€“ Allocation

Choose how donations should be allocated by default:

  • Product.

  • Fund.

  • Department.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note:
Facebook Giving Tools do not include campaign information, so defaults cannot be set at campaign level.
However, you can override attribution for specific Donate buttons or Fundraisersโ€”see the Managing Donations from Facebook Fundraisers and Donate Buttons article.

Configure Gift Aid Declarations

Facebook asks donors whether they wish to Gift Aid their donation. Donorfy receives this information but Facebook does not submit Gift Aid to HMRC, Donorfy does (Professional plan only).

Choose how Gift Aid Declarations should be created:

  • Single-donation declaration:
Leave the toggle set to No.
A declaration is created with the same start and end date as the donation.

  • Open-ended declaration:
    Set the toggle to Yes.
A declaration is created with an end date 99 years after the donation.

Integration Start Date

If you previously entered Facebook donations manually, use this setting to prevent duplication.

Set a date here, and Donorfy will ignore any donations in the imported report that occurred before this date.
