Launched in 2021, JustGiving's Giving Checkout is a simple donate process that from the click of a button or scan of a QR code drops the donor right into the main donation payment flow.
📌 Note:
Giving Checkout is not supported on JustGiving Fundraising Pages or Campaign Pages. Donations are therefore added to Donorfy using your default JustGiving integration settings.
How Giving Checkout Donations Are Added to Donorfy
Donorfy collects Giving Checkout payouts automatically via the JustGiving API. Each donation record includes:
Name.
Address.
Amount.
Gift Aid.
Contact Preferences (Purpose).
These details appear on the resulting Transaction in Donorfy once processed.
Default Settings Used for Giving Checkout Donations
Because Giving Checkout is not linked to specific JustGiving Campaigns or Fundraising Pages, Donorfy applies the default settings configured in Integrations, then JustGiving.
The defaults include:
Payment Method.
Product – Adhoc / Regular*.
Campaign.
Bank Account.
Acknowledgement.
Fund.
Department.
📌 Note:
RPI values are not added to Donorfy. Only the regular transaction amount is recorded.
Additional Donation Details
Comments included by the donor are added to the Transaction in the Comments section.
You can use these comments to identify the intended Campaign or Fund and manually update the Transaction if needed.
Payout and Retrieval Schedule
Giving Checkout payouts follow the same schedule as the main JustGiving integration.
All recently paid-out transactions are collected by Donorfy overnight each Thursday.
Using Giving Checkout in Donorfy
If you already have the JustGiving integration set up:
Create your Giving Checkout page in JustGiving.
Add the Giving Checkout button to your website or use the supplied QR code on your fundraising materials.
Donations will begin flowing into Donorfy automatically after payout.
