How Donorfy Matches Email Addresses
When a ticket order is placed in Eventbrite, the purchaser’s details, and attendee details if collected, are sent to Donorfy.
Donorfy attempts to match these records to an existing constituent using the email address provided.
Matching rules
If one constituent has the matching email address → Donorfy links the record to that constituent.
If multiple constituents share that email address → Donorfy uses a confidence score to select the best match.
If the confidence score is below 13, Donorfy creates a new constituent.
When a New Constituent Is Added
If Donorfy cannot confidently match the email address, it will create a new constituent profile.
Available contact details sent from Eventbrite—such as name, phone number, or address—are used to populate the new constituent’s record.
📌Note:
The Eventbrite integration does not update existing constituent contact details, even if the Eventbrite information differs.
Many orders include multiple attendees registered under the same email address. Updating contact details automatically could result in incorrect constituent information.
To encourage accurate updates, you can include a link to your self-service Preference Centre widget
Activities Created from Eventbrite Orders
Once a constituent is identified:
Donorfy adds an Eventbrite Order or Eventbrite Attendee Activity (depending on your campaign settings).
If attendee details were supplied, these are included in the Activity notes.
If you have enabled Create an Activity for each attendee, Donorfy also applies the same matching logic for attendee email addresses.
