Understanding Multiple Sub-Accounts
Many organisations use separate Dotdigital sub-accounts—for example:
One for fundraising communications.
One for retail/trading communications.
One for membership communications.
Donorfy’s Dotdigital integration supports this structure, with a few important considerations for configuration and user workflows.
Selecting Campaigns and Programs
When multiple Dotdigital sub-accounts are connected:
Donorfy users will see all available triggered campaigns (transactional emails) from all connected sub-accounts.
Users will also see all available programs (supporter journeys) from all connected sub-accounts.
In larger organisations, user training may be required to ensure staff select the correct campaign or program associated with the appropriate sub-account.
Mapping Donorfy Data to Multiple Sub-Accounts
Mapping rules can be applied flexibly across multiple Dotdigital sub-accounts.
When data fields share the same name
If all sub-accounts use an identical naming scheme for DataFields or Preferences:
Create the mapping once.
In the Accounts multi-select box, choose all sub-accounts that should receive the mapping.
This allows a single mapping configuration to update every selected Dotdigital sub-account.
When data fields differ between sub-accounts
If each sub-account uses different DataField names, you must:
Create separate mappings for each sub-account.
For each mapping, choose the corresponding Dotdigital DataField and select the relevant sub-account.
This ensures data syncs accurately even when naming conventions are inconsistent across sub-accounts.
⚠️Important: To access the Dotdigital integration you'll need to raise a support ticket.
