Manually Connect Other Email Services to Donorfy

Learn how to configure Donorfy to send emails using providers other than Office 365, Exchange, or Gmail by entering your own server settings.

Use Manual Configuration

  1. Navigate to Settings, click Configuration.

  2. Click Email Server Settings,then from the dropdown select Manual Configuration.

  3. Use this option if:

    • Your email system is not Office 365, Exchange, or Gmail, or

    • You are experiencing ongoing issues connecting through the pre-configured provider settings.

πŸ“Œ Note: Office 365 and Exchange also offer their own manual setup options with additional server-specific fields.


Gather Your Email Provider Settings

To complete Manual Configuration, you must locate the following details from your email provider or IT administrator:

  • Host name (e.g., smtp.yourprovider.com).

  • Port number.

  • SSL or TLS requirement.

  • Domain name (if applicable).

  • Email address and password used for authentication.

Enter Your Email Server Details

  1. Enter the host, port, SSL toggle, domain (if required), and your email credentials.

  2. Click Save Changes.


Test the Email Connection

  1. Click Send Test Email.

  2. Check the inbox of the email address you entered.

Result Handling

  • Success message: Your configuration is working.

  • Error message: Donorfy displays the returned error details, which may relate to incorrect credentials, port restrictions, or server security settings.

Correct any errors, update the fields, save, and try sending a test email again.


Finalise Your Settings

Once the test email is successful, click Save Changes to complete the configuration.
