Understand How Constituents Are Created or Matched
When someone donates or creates a fundraising page in Enthuse and does not remain anonymous, Donorfy attempts to find an existing match.
Check existing constituents using Donorfy’s duplicate check algorithm.
Match or create a constituent based on the confidence score.
The duplicate check assigns a confidence score between 4 and 15.
Scores of 13 or higher result in a match to an existing constituent.
If multiple constituents score 13 or higher, the oldest constituent record is used.
Scores below 13, or ambiguous matches, result in a new constituent being created.
Apply Constituent Types Automatically
New constituents are created using predefined constituent types.
Create individual constituents when the supporter is defined as a person in Enthuse.
Create organisation constituents when the supporter is defined as an organisation.
The constituent types used are configured in the Enthuse Settings page in Donorfy.
Handle Anonymous Supporters
Supporters who choose to remain anonymous are handled differently.
Assign the associated transactions to the default Anonymous Constituent.
Record the donation without creating or updating an identifiable constituent.
The Anonymous Constituent is defined in the Enthuse Settings page.
Understand Event Registration Differences
Event registrations follow a different data flow due to how Enthuse captures event data.

Apply Communication Consents
Communication preferences are applied differently depending on whether the constituent is new or existing.
Newly Added Constituents
For new constituents created by the integration:
Set the communication Channel consent based on data from Enthuse.
Set the Preferred Communication Channel from Enthuse.

Existing Constituents
For constituents that already exist in Donorfy:
Leave all communication preferences unchanged.
Do not update personal details such as name or address.
This prevents existing consent and profile data from being overwritten.
