JustGiving runs partnered charity challenges, both virtual and live. Recent examples include the 2.6 Challenge , 5K May (Run for Heroes), and Captain Tom 100 (Macmillan Cancer Support).
A lead charity partners with JustGiving to deliver the challenge, while other charities can participate using a bespoke Get-Involved URL and toolkit provided by JustGiving.

How Charity Challenge Donations Are Processed

Each participating charity receives the funds raised for its own supporters, minus a partner charity fee (if applicable).
The fee rate varies and is usually stated in the challenge toolkit. For example, the 5K May challenge deducted a 5% fee payable to Run for Heroes.

Each charity has its own page within the challenge microsite. This page includes the charity’s JustGiving Charity ID, which ensures funds are directed to the correct JustGiving account.

Donations appear in your charity’s JustGiving account under the Appeal Name (for example, 5K May). This Appeal Name is also used for reporting within JustGiving.
ow Partner Charity Fees Appear in Donorfy

There is no published detail from JustGiving regarding how the partner charity fee is applied.
It is assumed that:

  • The fee is deducted per transaction before payout.

  • The fee is included within the Processing Costs value passed into Donorfy.

⚠️ Important:
The Processing Costs field in Donorfy is a total field. It does not break down individual fee components.
