When you upload a file containing constituents, Donorfy automatically checks for possible duplicates. If matches are found, the upload pauses and Donorfy displays a warning. You can review the matches and choose whether to ignore the warning for specific rows and import them anyway.

Review the Duplicate Check Results

  1. After uploading your file, Donorfy displays a duplicate warning message.

  2. Click the link to download the review file.

  3. In the downloaded file, the Action column will show:

    • Import – the row is not considered a duplicate.

    • Ignore – the row is considered a potential duplicate.

Import Rows Marked as Potential Duplicates

If you want to proceed with importing some or all rows flagged as duplicates:

  1. In the downloaded file, change the Action value from Ignore to Import for the rows you want to import.

  2. Leave rows marked n/a as they will be ignored automatically.(You may delete these rows if you prefer).

  3. Save your updated file.

  4. Re-upload the file to Donorfy.

πŸ“Œ Note:
Because the uploaded file now contains Status and Action columns, Donorfy recognises it as a previously checked file and will not check for duplicates again.

Complete the Upload

  1. After re-uploading, check the field mappings:

    • Set the Status and Action columns to Ignore.

  2. Click Save Changes to finish the import.

  3. Only rows with Action = Import will be added to Donorfy.

Remove the First (Original) Upload Attempt

Because the first attempt is still queued, it is best practice to delete it to avoid accidental processing.
