Understand the Analytics Table

The Membership Analytics table shows 12 months of data in a clear, month-by-month format.
Data is calculated in two categories: Counts and Amounts.

Counts Calculations

  • Opening:
The number of active memberships at the start of the month.

  • Joiners:
The number of new memberships added during the month.

  • Leavers:
The number of memberships cancelled during the month.

  • Closing:
    Opening + Joiners – Leavers.

  • Net Gain/Loss (Count):
    Joiners – Leavers.

Amounts Calculations

  • Opening:
(Amount × frequency for memberships active at the start of the month) minus cancelled memberships.

  • Joiners:
(Amount × frequency) for new active memberships added during the month.

  • Leavers:
(Amount × frequency) for memberships cancelled during the month.

  • Closing:
    Opening + Joiners – Leavers.

  • Net Gain/Loss £:
(Amount × frequency of Joiners) – Leavers.

  • Net Gain/Loss %:
    (Net gain/loss ÷ Closing) × 100.

Memberships analytics for a Dashboard tile

The analytical data for Memberships above can not be replicated within a List due to the calculations used. However, you could opt to create a custom dashboard within an external tool, such as Excel or PowerBi, using the OData connection and some formulas.
