This article will guide you through your Currency configuration.
When setting up your Donorfy, you will have been asked to set your Home Currency. The Home Currency is the currency that your organisation usually works in. For example. a charity within the United Kingdom would usually bank in GBP. Once set it will show (home) next to the Currency code - i.e GBP (home).
⚠️Important:
You can only set your home currency once.
If this was set incorrectly, or you do not have a Home Currency set, please contact our Support Team, who will amend your Donorfy System Settings.
Add additional Currency
Additional Currencies can be added at any time.
To add new Currencies:
Navigate to Settings, then click Configuration.
Select Currencies.
Click on the plus button and start to add the details for your new item.
Click the Currency box to reveal more currency options.
Within the Description Currency drop-down, select from the List of ISO-approved currencies.
Set it to be Active.
Click Save Changes.
Exchange Rate
Donorfy utilises a live currency service, which will provide you with up-to-date exchange rates for the conversions into your home currency.
However, you may wish to use a standard exchange rate for the entire financial year.
You can use a currency converter, such as https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/ to obtain your rate information. Once the exchange rate has been added, this will override the live currency service that Donorfy links to, so only enter an exchange rate if you want a set rate.
📌Note: The conversion rate is only illustrative and the actual conversion rate into your Bank account may differ.
You can edit these settings at any time by clicking on the currency description.
You default currency will also be applied to your dashboard settings.
