Trusts and foundations fundraising often focuses on building long-term relationships, managing detailed application processes, and tracking income over time. Donorfy provides dedicated tools to support each stage of this work.

Understand Trust Fundraising in Donorfy

Trust fundraising in Donorfy is supported across three key areas:

Record Prospect Research

Prospect research information is stored against a Trust constituent.

This information is typically more static and includes:

  • Core constituent details such as name and contact information.

  • Areas of interest or funding criteria.

  • Application processes and deadlines.

  • Typical grant sizes or average amounts awarded.

  • History of previous grants and engagement.

This data is held within the Trust Info panel on the constituent profile, giving you a single place to store and review research details.

Trust constituents are usually set up using a group-type Constituent Type.

Plan and Manage Applications

The Opportunities feature is used to plan, track, and manage trust and foundation applications.

Using Opportunities, you can:

  • Record funding asks and bid values.

  • Track application stages and outcomes.

  • Log follow-up actions and decisions.

  • Link Opportunities to the relevant Trust constituent.

Opportunities help you manage the full lifecycle of an application, from initial approach through to award or decline.

Gain an Overview of Fundraising Activity

Donorfy provides tools to help you understand your trusts and foundations pipeline and performance.

You can:

  • View the Pipeline to see applications in progress.

  • Track how much funding has been received to date.

  • Forecast expected income from open Opportunities.

  • Use Lists to analyse and report on trust fundraising activity.

Lists and Pipeline views allow you to answer questions such as what is in progress, what is secured, and what income may be expected.
