Understand What the Integration Allows You to Do

The integration between Donorfy and Mailchimp enables two-way data synchronisation.

  1. Send constituents from Donorfy to Mailchimp, optionally including tags and communication purposes.

  2. Update Donorfy when someone subscribes, updates preferences, or unsubscribes in Mailchimp.

πŸ“Œ Note:
In Mailchimp, an Audience was previously known as a List.

Once connected, Donorfy can display Mailchimp-related information.

  1. View Mailchimp profile details directly from a constituent record.

  2. View Mailchimp campaign information from a campaign record in Donorfy.

This provides visibility without needing to switch systems.

Plan the Data You Want to Share

Before configuration, decide how data should flow between systems.

  1. Identify which communication purposes should map between Donorfy and Mailchimp.

  2. Decide which tags should sync and how they will be used for segmentation.

Clear planning reduces rework later.

  1. Configure the data that should be shared between Donorfy and Mailchimp.

  2. Set up updating Donorfy from Mailchimp so subscriber changes sync back correctly.
