Donorfy provides a flexible set of features to help you create membership products, track member details, manage payments, and maintain accurate membership records.

⚠️Important:
Memberships is a Professional only feature. Essential subscribers, if, after reading through the overview and other supporting documentation you feel that Memberships is right for your charity or organisation please contact us to find out more about upgrading.

Set Up Membership Products

Products represent the different membership types your organisation offers.
Create a product for each type of membership before adding or importing members.

How Memberships Work in Donorfy

A membership is created when someone joins your organisation. Each membership is represented by a Recurring Payment Instruction (RPI), which includes the details that govern the membership.

Membership Details Include:

  • The membership product assigned to the member.

  • The payment method used to pay for the membership.

  • The members benefiting from the membership.

  • The primary member, who is the main contact for membership communication.

  • The Paid Up To date, which indicates when the membership ends unless renewed.

Collection Methods

Collection methods determine how a membership is paid for.
Examples include:

  • Direct Debit.

  • Stripe.

  • GoCardless.

  • Cheque.

  • Other manual payment methods.

If you already have existing members, you can upload their membership details into Donorfy.

View and Manage Memberships

Lists allow you to view, filter, and download details about members and memberships.

You can also set up rules to apply membership statuses automatically, such as Active, Lapsed, or Cancelled.

Maintain Memberships

From time to time, you may need to update your membership structure or manage specific cases.

Common Membership Actions

  • Change membership prices.

  • Cancel memberships that have not paid.
