Visualisations allow you to transform your list results into charts, graphs, and value summaries, making reporting clearer and more impactful.
View and Build Visualisations
Within any List:
Click the Visualisation tab.
Use the Display and Measure boxes to define what your chart will show.
Display
A category you want to summarise (qualitative data).
Examples: Campaign, Fund, Constituent Type, Gender.
Measure
A number you want to aggregate (quantitative data).
Examples: Payment Amount, Gift Amount, Allocation, Research Scores.
Aggregation Options
Choose how the Measure should be calculated:
Sum.
Count.
Average.
Highest.
Lowest.
To set Display or Measure:
Drag a column from Available Columns.
Drop it into the Display or Measure box (the blue dashed area will highlight).
Available Columns depend on the columns included in your List, so your options will differ between Lists.
Choose a Visualisation Type
Select one of the chart options:
Pie Chart.
Line Graph.
Bar Chart.
Value (requires only a Measure, no Display)
Format Your Visualisation
You can adjust the formatting of numerical values:
Add thousand separators.
Show values as currency.
Set decimal places.
Below the Measure section, you can also change the value text size:
Small.
Medium.
Large.
Extra Large.
Hovering over a pie segment or bar reveals the specific value behind the data.
Tips, Tricks, and Shortcuts
Right-click near your chart to copy it for use in reports (PDFs, trustee packs, finance reports).
You can use Activity and Tag custom fields in visualisations—ensure your List is filtered to a specific Activity or Tag first, and save it.
To count constituents by category:
Create a Constituent List.
Include the column Number.
Set Measure = Number and Aggregation = Count.
Set Display = your category (e.g., Constituent Type, Personal County).
Click the download cloud icon to save your visualisation as a .png image.
