Why You Need to Update Your Webhook
Eventbrite webhooks created before 5 August 2020 used HTTP, which is no longer considered secure.
Donorfy now uses HTTPS, meaning your existing webhook must be replaced manually within Eventbrite to maintain security.
📌Note:
Eventbrite hosts the webhook, so Donorfy cannot update it automatically.
You should complete this update as soon as possible.
Check Your Existing Webhook
Log into your Eventbrite account.
Click the person icon (top right).
Select Account Settings.
Expand Developer Links in the left-hand menu.
Choose Webhooks.
Locate your existing webhook and click Detail to review:
The Payload URL
The actions currently selected (note these down)
Create Your New HTTPS Webhook
Click the Manage Webhooks link at the top of the page.
Select Add Webhook.
In Payload URL, enter:
//api.donorfy.com/api/EventBrite/<your Donorfy api key>
Example:
https://api.donorfy.com/api/EventBrite/ABCDEFG
Re-add the same Actions/Objects you noted from the old webhook.
Typical configuration:
Events: All
Action: order.placed
Click Add Webhooks to save.
Press Test to verify the setup.
Refresh the page to view the result.
A 200 OK response confirms success.
Delete the Old HTTP Webhook
Once the new webhook tests correctly:
Open the Detail view for the webhook starting with http://.
Click Delete to remove it.
This prevents duplicate data being sent to Donorfy and ensures only the secure webhook is active.
