Giving Stats fields in Lists mirror the information shown on constituent recordsβ€”plus additional reporting fields designed for segmentation, analysis, and year-on-year comparisons.

Where to Find Giving Stats in Lists

  1. Create or open a Constituent List or Campaign List.

  2. Open the Column selector.

  3. Look for fields beginning with Giving Stats.

These fields can be used to:

  • Filter your list.

  • Display data as columns.

  • Build financial, behavioural, or segmentation-based reports.

Understanding Giving Stats Fields

Year-Based Fields

Fields labelled Current Year, Current Year –1, Current Year –2, etc., relate to your Reporting Year, and can be defined by:

  • Navigate to Settings, click Account, select Donorfy Settings.

A gift is included based on:

  • The Accounting Date on the transaction allocation.

  • Your Reporting Year Start Date.

πŸ“ŒNote: If a transaction has multiple allocations with different accounting dates, Donorfy uses the earliest accounting date to prevent double-counting.

Contribution types within each year include:

  • Gifts: allocations where the Product is marked as Gift income.

  • Pledges: open pledge amounts.

  • Soft Credits: amounts attributed from another donor.

  • Gift Aid Reclaimed: Gift Aid claimed against eligible gifts.

πŸ“ŒNote: Soft credits always appear in annual stats, regardless of Product, because soft-credited amounts often represent part of a donation.

Field types

  • Amount: monetary values in your home currency.

  • Number: volume of gifts, pledges, or soft credits.

Rolling 12-Month Fields

If you prefer rolling periods instead of financial years, use fields labelled:

  • Months 1–12 – last 12 full months (up to end of previous month).

  • Months 13–24.

  • Months 25–36.

  • Months 37–48.

  • Months 49+.

These fields ignore the Reporting Year and instead group gifts by calendar months.

Example

A donation made on 4 February 2019, with the reporting year starting 1 October, would appear as:

  • Current Year –2 Gifts Amount/Number (for reporting as at May 2021).

  • Months 25–36 Gifts Amount/Number in rolling periods.

To Date Fields for Current Year –1

For comparisons, additional fields appear as Current Year –1 To Date.

These totals reflect the value up to today’s date last yearβ€”useful for comparing progress against the same point in time.

Lifetime & Other Non-Year Fields

All dates refer to the Accounting Date.

Available fields include:

  • Average Gift Amount.

  • Date of First / Last / Highest / Lowest Gift.

  • First Gift Amount.

  • Last Gift Amount.

  • Highest / Lowest Gift Amount.

  • Lifetime Gifts Amount / Number.

  • Lifetime Non-Gift Income.

  • Lifetime Pledged Amount / Number.

  • Lifetime Soft Credits Amount / Number.

  • Lifetime Gift Aid Reclaimed Amount.

  • Lifetime Recurring Gifts Amount.

  • Lifetime Total Contribution: sum of Gifts, Pledges, Soft Credits, and Gift Aid.

  • Donor Pyramid Level: based on your Donor Pyramid configuration.

Tax-Year Fields

Under Giving Stats, Tax Years, you will find fields calculated against the UK tax year:

6 April – 5 April (following year).

These fields work exactly like their corresponding reporting-year fields but use fixed tax-year boundaries.

Changing Your Reporting Year

  1. Navigate to Settings, click Account, select Donorfy Settings.

  2. Update the Reporting Year Starts On field.

πŸ“Œ Note: Changes recalculate overnight. New values appear the next morning in Lists and on constituent records.
