What Soft Crediting Means
Soft crediting is the act of assigning recognition of a donation to another party or parties who are not the actual donor.
For example, Mr A gives £1,000 but you wish to assign 50% of the value of that donation to Mr B who encouraged Mr A to make the donation in the first place.
Soft credit percentages do not have to total 100%.
Add a Soft Credit When Entering a Donation
When you add a Transaction, navigate to Payments.
Click More/Less on the right hand-side.
Next to the Soft Credits section, click Add.
Find and select the constituent you wish to recognise.
Fill in either:
A percentage in the first field.
A value in the second field.
Add any comments and click Save.
📌Note: If you enter a percentage, the system will work out the value for you.
