This error may appear in a grey pop-out box when previewing a List in Donorfy. It typically indicates a temporary browser-related issue rather than a problem with your List setup.
The full message usually appears as:
Error retrieving data: SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0.
📌Note: This error is most commonly caused by a transient cache or browser issue. It does not necessarily indicate a system fault or a problem with your Donorfy data.
Fix the Error
Try the following steps in order:
Close and restart your browser.
This resolves most temporary caching problems.Check for browser updates.
In Chrome or Edge, click the three dots, select Settings, click About to confirm your browser is fully updated.Clear your browser cache.
Cached scripts or expired session data can prevent Lists from loading correctly.
After completing these steps, return to your List and click Preview again.
