This article explains how to configure your collection method for lodgement, create lodgement files, understand status changes, and re-lodge RPIs when required.
Configure the Collection Method for Lodgement
Navigate to Settings, then open your collection method.
Set the default status to To be Lodged, then specify the fields required in your lodgement files.
Review the setup details in the related knowledge base article on configuring collection methods.
📌 Note: Setting the default status correctly ensures new RPIs are prepared for inclusion in future lodgement files.
Create a Lodgement File for New RPIs
Go to Financial, then click EFT.
Open the Create Lodgement Files tab, then select the appropriate collection method (for example, Direct Debits via your BACS software).
Click Create Lodgement File, then download the generated CSV from the Available Downloads list.
Review the file content, then submit it to your EFT institution following their required process.
Confirm that the RPIs included in the file have updated from To be Lodged to Lodged and Awaiting Confirmation.
📌 Note: The frequency of creating lodgement files depends on the number of new donors using this collection method.
Understand RPI Status Changes After Lodgement
After the required elapsed days have passed, an overnight process updates the RPI status to Active.
Once active, expected payments are created for each RPI and can be included in your standard payment files.
📌 Note: No payments are collected for an RPI until it becomes Active.
Manage Failed Lodgements
Find the RPI on the constituent’s timeline, then open the RPI Manage menu.
Change the status to Cancelled, then contact the supporter to resolve the underlying issue.
Re-Lodge an RPI
Find the RPI on the constituent’s timeline, then open the RPI Manage menu.
Click Relodge to flag the RPI for inclusion in the next lodgement file.
No payments are collected for the RPI while it awaits re-lodgement.
