This process allows you to link uploaded records to existing constituents in Donorfy.
Depending on the import type, you can create:

  • Connections between new constituents and existing ones.

  • Connections between new activities and existing constituents.

  • Connections or beneficiary links between new transactions and existing constituents.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote:
If you need to create connections between existing constituents only, see Create Connections Between Existing Constituents Using the File Uploader.

Create Connections When Importing New Constituents

When uploading constituents, you can link each new constituent to an existing one using one of the following identifiers:

Create Connections When Importing Activities

When uploading activities, you may link each new activity to an existing constituent using:

  • Connected Constituent Number.

  • Connected Constituent External Key.

  • Connected Constituent Email Address.

These identifiers allow Donorfy to attach the activity to the correct constituent record.

Create Connections & Beneficiary Links When Importing Transactions

When importing transactions, you may create two types of relationships:

1. Connections (Link the transaction to an existing constituent)

Use one of:

  • Connected Constituent Number.

  • Connected Constituent External Key.

  • Connected Constituent Email Address.

2. Beneficiary Links (Identify who benefits from the transaction)

Use one of:

  • Beneficiary Constituent Number.

  • Beneficiary Constituent External Key.

  • Beneficiary Constituent Email Address.

The beneficiary must already exist as a constituent in Donorfy.
