Use an RPI for ongoing memberships (e.g. monthly direct debit) and a Transaction for one-off membership payments (e.g. annual card payment).

Add a Beneficiary to a Transaction or RPI

  1. Open the constituent’s Timeline.

  2. Select the Transaction or Recurring Payment Instruction you want to update.

  3. Scroll to the Allocation section.

  4. Click the arrow to expand additional allocation details.

  5. Click Add Beneficiary.

  6. Start typing the beneficiary’s last name or organisation name.

  7. Select the correct constituent to link them as the beneficiary.

  8. Add any supplementary details in the Comments field.

  9. Click Save changes.

Once linked, the Transaction or RPI appears on the beneficiary’s Timeline.

Work With Beneficiaries in Lists

Transaction Lists

When creating a Transaction List, you can include beneficiary information:

  1. Open the Column dropdown.

  2. Select beneficiary name and address fields, all prefixed with Beneficiary (e.g. Beneficiary Last Name, Beneficiary Address Line 1).

  3. Optionally include the Beneficiary Comments field if needed.

Recurring Payment Beneficiaries Lists

To report on beneficiaries linked to RPIs:

  1. Create a Recurring Payment Beneficiaries List.

  2. Add any required filters.

  3. Include beneficiary fields from the column selector.

Standard Recurring Payment Instruction Lists do not include beneficiary details. Use the Recurring Payment Beneficiaries List instead.
