Lists can be categorised and organised easily by using List Tags which makes locating your List(s) within lots of other Lists much easier.

Some ideas for List Tags are:

  • Staff names: Lists created by a specific user can be retrieved.

  • Trustee: Lists that are used for reporting on items for Trustees.

  • London Marathon: enabling location of runners, financial reports, pages, etc.

  • Year End: all your year-end Lists.

  • Major Donors: Lists featuring your Major Donors.

  • Campaign Segments: base segments for your Campaigns.

  • etc.

Create List Tags

  1. Navigate to Settings, click Configuration.

  2. Select Tags & Tag Categories.

  3. Click on Tags for organising List.

  4. Click the plus button to the right of the screen.

  5. Add your Tag Description.

  6. Set the Tag as Active.

  7. Click Save Changes.

Your List Tag has now been created.

Apply a List Tag to your List

List Tags can not be added in bulk to your Lists, they need to be added directly within a List:

  1. Create a new List or open the List that you would like to Tag.

  2. Click on the Details section.

  3. Click in to the Tags field.

  4. Select your List Tag from the dropdown list, your Tag will then be added.

  5. After editing/building your List click Save List and Fetch the Results.

Using List Tags to locate Lists

To be able to view which Lists contain a List Tags the Active Tags option will need to be added to the list of Lists view:

  1. Open Lists

  2. Click on the data field selection button to the right of the screen.

  3. Select: Constituent, Active Tags.

Your List menu will now display all the List Tags that you have applied to the List(s).

Filtering on List Tags

Instead of scrolling through all of your Lists looking for one with a particular List Tag, you can use the filter function.

Within Lists, there is a List Tags filter field:

  1. Click in to the List Tags filter field.

  2. Select the List Tag(s) that you would filter by.

Your Lists will then automatically filter so that only those that feature that List Tag are displayed.

πŸ“ŒNote:

If you have any List Type filters applied, your results will be further limited.

To see all Lists with the List Tag you will need to ensure that the List Types are not ticked.
