To set up or change tags you need to:

  1. Navigate to Settings, then click Configuration.

  2. Select Tag and Tags Category.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote:You will see a list of tag categories: they provide a way of grouping similar tags together.

  3. To add a new tag category click the plus button.

  4. Give your category a name.

  5. Select the type of entities the tag can be applied to.

Once you have added a new category you can add some tags to it.

Delete a Tag Category

โš ๏ธImportant:

  • A Tag Category can only be deleted if the Category features no Tags within it.

  • Any Tags present in a particular Tag Category must first be deleted.

  • Any Tags that may be present and you wish to keep would need to be moved to a different Tag Category.

  • All those Constituents with the Tag(s) will need to have the new Tag added to their Profiles - it is highly suggested that the Tag name is slightly different from the original Tag.

Once there are no Tags left in a category:

  • A delete option will be presented when you open the Tag Category.
The button will be located to the right of the screen between the Save Changes and the Close button.

Add or Change Tags

To add, change or delete tags:

  1. Select the category that tag belongs to.

  2. Click on the category in the list to select it, example Adoption Tag Category(yellow box).

    • the Tags in this category are shown under Tags (green box).

  3. To add a new tag click on the plus button (red box).

To work with an existing tag click on it (green box).

๐Ÿ“ŒNote:

  • If you change a tag description do not have a list that uses the tag open in another tab.

  • Make sure no one else in your organisation is using the tag at that time.

  • It is always best to do this sort of maintenance when no one else is using the system.

โš ๏ธImportant:

  • Do not use special characters such as commas, underscores, ampersand (&), less or more ( < > ), astricts (*), #, etc. within in your Tag Category or Tag description as this may have an adverse effect on Lists, Integrations and the File Uploader/Updater.

  • Reference webpage for special characters: click here.

  • Deleting or renaming Tags may also affect other integrations, e.g MailChimp - please check relevant mappings.
